Wedding Cake topper

Another wedding gift! For my sister! Woot!!
This is a cake topper. Similar to the one I made for my cousin.
It’s a simple one made of sculpey. Super fun to make.

As usual, it starts with an armature. I forgot to take a pic, but for the bride and groom's body, I also used aluminum foil for the core.

Burd

As usual, armature with a small clump of plumbers clay.

Booboo. Made the head too big already. Restart!

Size works much better here. (I hope)

Eyes and lids

Starting to form the beak

Neck feathers or is it fire. Fire feathers?

Mohawk? Why not.

More random details.

Done. 3 hrs. The size is still a bit large for my liking compared to the beast. I’ll make it work with the body.

Celestial Pair

I do work on many project. But, I didn’t feel the need to post them..until now.

This one will take a significant amount of commitment. It’s a sculpture. Not going to say much about it as it’s going to be a surprise.

It’ll be a surprise as to what it is for, but what it IS is actually pretty obvious. I’ll just start posting work in progress pics.

Let’s just dive right in:

Every sculpture begins with an armature.

A little blob of plumbers putty to take some of the voume from the sculpey.

The design will be done of the fly. Pulling a lot of reference from the internet. (As usual)

Head is done. 3 hours. Baked to harden.
